Improving Integrity in CS1 Course Using Formative Assessment and Version Control Tools

There are many grey areas in the interpretation of academic integrity course on Introduction to Programming, commonly known as CS1. Copying, for example, is a method learning, cheating and reuse professional practice. Many institutions India publish code lab manual. The students expected practice programs manual write them final examination without looking at reference code. apportion some marks copying program from record books. system thus, inherently encourages copying. student listens program’s explanation lecture, practices same lab, writes book again studies conducted end semester. This process facilitates students, extent, understand concepts. However, significant disadvantage this that most do not acquire ability authentic tasks. In context very rigid laboratory protocols exist CS1 courses across Institutes India, an additional protocol focuses students’ can potentially improve quality learning. article presents using technology tools disturbing existing system.
